Adele Gets Rid of Default Shuffling on Spotify

Adele has asked Spotify to turn off default shuffling. They fulfilled her wishes. If you have a premium account, shuffle is not on by default in album view anymore. Adele says she wanted this because “We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended.”

Adele thanked Spotify. They replied, “Anything for you,” possibly indicating it was a favor. This feature was released soon after the release of Adele’s new album, “30”. Don’t worry, shuffling hasn’t disappeared altogether. Chris Macowski, head of music communications says “For those users still wishing to shuffle an album, they can go to the Now Playing View and select the shuffle toggle.”
